North County San Diego Encinitas

Discover rolling hills, natural beauty, and 6 miles of breathtaking Pacific Coastline characterize the stunning seaside community of North County San Diego Encinitas. The city stretches north to the Batiquitos Lagoon and south to the San Elijo lagoon. The beautiful San Elijo lagoon reserve is one of the largest coastal wetlands in San Diego County and is home to approximately 300 different bird species.

The city was incorporated in 1986, drawing together the communities of New Encinitas, Old Encinitas, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Olivenhain, and Leucadia. Each one of the five communities has its own individual small-town feel and community.

The city is known as “The Flower Capital of the World” thanks to the city’s magnificent flower growing industry particularly in Poinsettias. The city was developed around all of the pre-existing flower growers and its beauty and charm is evident. Encinitas is also home to the gorgeous Quail Botanical Gardens, a stunning oasis of serene gardens that overlook the Pacific Ocean. This beautiful community has 6 different beaches to chose from and is known to have some of the best surfing, with many surf contests being held here throughout the year.

Encinitas has it’s own golf course that features a championship 18 hole par 72 course with spectacular panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. And for those who love to shop, the city offers a coastal shopping district with quaint shops, sidewalk cafes and upscale restaurants.
